GTU had organized International Conference on “Advances in Tribology and Engineering System” in association with L.D. College of Engineering on 15-16-17th October 2013 at GTU Chandkheda Campus.

Dr. M.N.Patel, Principal of L.D.College of Engineering delivered the opening speech at the conference on the first day.

Dr. Akshai Aggarwal Vice Chancellor of GTU addressed the conference and shared that this was the first engineering conference at GTU.

More than 200 researchers , academicians including 23 representative of corporates like L&T, General Motors, OTIC attended the conference

Dr. K.N.Mistry , Professor of GTU at GIDC Polytechnic at Navsari & Researcher of TRIBOLOGY introduced the subject on the 1st day of the conference during his speech.

Dr. Stephane PANIER professor from France shared his research on Hot-spotting in Railway Disc Brakes where he showcased the use of multiple combination breaks to avoid hot-spotting which is currently accepted and used in many of Europe Trains

Dr.N.L.Soni from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai shared his research on Design and Development of Water Lubricated Rolling Contact Bearings which are developed in BARC under his leadership for Nuclear Power Plants in INDIA

1.Dr. Harish Hirani of IIT Delhi presented his research on Lubrication by Molybdenum Disulphide 2. Dr. Wong P.L from City University of Hongkong gave presentation on The interfacial effect on elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication
